The New You in 2011!!

New Year's ~ New You ~ struggle with implementing simple changes that make a huge impact on your health?

Taking whole food supplements that contain "real" whole food are an important consideration for the health of our bodies in this country. Too much stress ~ too much sugar and caffeine, not enough sleep, exercise and laughter contribute to weakening our immune systems significantly!!!

Dr. Vic Shayne states:

Flavo-C is one very amazing supplement because it contains foods high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Both are involved in preventing heart disease, protecting against cancer, creating radiant skin, bolstering the immune system, protecting the lungs, healing wounds and sores and even building bones and muscle. The list is even longer.

Most everybody has heard of taking vitamin C to fight the flu. But Flavo-C is even better.

WHAT MAKES FLAVO-C DIFFERENT

Surprise! Almost every vitamin C pill on the market today is NOT even made from citrus.
Instead it's a synthetic (artificial) concoction made from corn sugar. Surprising to learn, but true.
Flavo-C, on the other hand, is not manmade. It contains fruits and other foods high in nutrients. It's the most natural source you can find. It contains more biochemical complexes to defend your body.

WHAT'S IN FLAVO-C? ONLY WHOLE FOOD COMPLEXES

Only foods are in Flavo-C — foods high in the entire vitamin C complex (not just ascorbic acid) as well as bioflavonoids.

ACEROLA CHERRY

Acerola is a cherry the size of a berry and is indigenous to tropical rainforests.
It is one of the highest vitamin C-containing fruits — much higher per volume than oranges, lemons or limes.
Vitamin C is the stuff of which cells are cemented together. A deficiency affects every membrane in the body.
Given flu symptoms, the cherry is an ideal adjunct to an ailing body. It supports the lungs, sinuses, throat, eyes and immune system.
Amazon herb researcher Leslie Taylor, ND writes:
“Acerola juice is as common and popular in Brazil as orange juice is in North America. As a natural remedy in Brazil, a handful of fresh fruit is eaten for fever and dysentery.
It is also used there as an anti-inflammatory, astringent, stimulant for the liver and renal systems, diuretic, and to support heart function as well as to heal wounds.
It is employed as a nutritive aid for anemia, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, liver problems, rheumatism, tuberculosis, and during convalescence."

WILD PANSY

While many food researchers have turned to buckwheat as a source of the flavonoid called rutin, wild pansy is, hands down, a superior source.
One of rutin's roles in biochemistry is to stabilize vitamin C, allowing it to be more effective fighting the flu.

BILBERRY

A good source of antioxidants (and vitamin C), bilberry also helps with many of the symptoms of cold and flu, including diarrhea.

HORSE CHESTNUT

Horse chestnut reduces inflammation, which is helpful when symptoms of swollen sinuses and restricted air passages.

FLAVO-C WORKS FOR MORE THAN COLDS AND FLU

Flavo-C is a versatile supplement because vitamin C and bioflavonoids have such ubiquitous roles in keeping us healthy.
From varicose veins to serious illnesses, the foods in FlavoC are needed for immune system support, healing, prevention, inflammation, swelling and lung capacity.

Holidays, Sugar, Stress ~ Need Support?

The holidays, family and travel can put extra strains on our immune systems and emotional states of being. The nervous, hormone and digestive systems all work together as our bodies travel through the day to day stresses of life. If we were already in a weakened state on some level, the holidays, extra sugar intake, added stress can tip us "over the edge" physically. Be aware of how you are being impacted with these dynamics and if you are not sure ~ please give our office a call so we can help you determine your current health state ~ Valeo Health & Wellness Center @ 952-949-0676.

One can not effectively know how healthy one is by the way they "feel". So much body function is automatic and the body's constantly balancing systems. Symptoms don't show up until the body fails at this often "long drawn out time frame". Let us provide you with education and solutions so that you don't get caught with your guard down or more severe symptoms as a result of a long/short term issue that has not effectively been resolved by your body that you may not have been aware of. Don't delay ~ the holidays are for fellowship, laughter, joy, energy, worship and time to focus on life's important relationships.

Bless you this holiday season!!!

Stress ~ Need Enzymes?

Digestive enzymes must be present in the upper GI tract and organs for breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates, fats and sugars (cell food). The breakdown of essential nutrients is only half of the process. Once our foods are broken down we still have to deliver the nutrients to the cells of the body. Many biochemical reactions are needed for this to occur unhindered.

Stress is an enzyme destroyer! When your body registers stress, whether internal, external or both, your adrenals are told by the brain to produce the hormone, Cortisol, in attempts to balance out the recent influx of stress. Cortisol competes in the digestive tract for Hydrochloric Acid (Hcl). The more Cortisol, the less digestive enzymes to break down our food. Now picture a scenario of a high stress day, running late, eating something fast (muffin and latte/espresso) on the go, meeting after meeting, late picking up the kids, dinner has to be fast food so the kids can get dropped off at sports ~ and you have a recipe for digestive upset, breakdown, lack of nutrients, beginning of disease and/or symptoms. Sound familiar????

Knowing simple facts about the physiological process of digestion is half the battle. Understanding what foods have naturally occurring enzymes is extremely helpful and lessens supplement intake. Ingesting the proper foods and/or whole food enzyme supplements during times of stress is very wise. Our bodies struggle to keep up with the demands of our society and lifestyles ~ we must learn balance and compensation to avoid the traps of health crises we see today that have become so common and accepted as "normal".

There is a BETTER WAY ~ there is HOPE ~ there is HELP!!! Whether you currently have symptoms or not, you have stress!! Be proactive ~ the results and healing happen much faster, easier, more cost effective and truly halt the road to dysfunction, disease, etc.

The body has over 3,000 enzymes that we know of so let us help you determine which ones you may need ~ call Valeo today to schedule a consult to determine what enzyme(s) you may need. Take advantage of our special $25 off your initial appointment this month!!
